When you decide to homeschool your children, you need to become knowledgeable about various subjects so that you can prepare an adequate education plan. Once you have established a plan, which should include targets for different subject areas, you should consider the idea of the projects unit.

You may be familiar with the project, as you might do one or two if you come through the public school system. The project is a great way to implement and test the knowledge acquired through education unit. A good plan is to have a multi-week unit set to a specific subject, and at the end of the project set the unit for a week that will make use of what your child has learned.

Projects may also involve other members of the family. Ecosystems, for example, can be placed in a prime location, and other family members will no doubt take interest. This is a great educational experience when your child can not only energetically project progress reports his parents, but it really shows the job in hand. Every parent has witnessed a child from a public system that describes a project they did at the dinner table, but as homeschooling parents you have the benefit of having a "home" and "school" become one: your child can not only tell, but Show ,

When you homeschool, you are not limited by the practical needed in a public or private school system. The idea of the project is limited only by your imagination and your child. For each unit, encourage your child to come up with ideas of long-term projects and use their learning in a practical way.
